What Is Apex Trader Funding?
Apex is an evaluation-based prop firm that funds traders exclusively in futures markets. Traders pay a monthly subscription fee, pass a one-step evaluation under defined risk rules, and receive a funded Performance Account (PA) with real profit payouts. No personal capital is put at risk in the markets.
What sets Apex apart is its single-phase evaluation, no daily drawdown restriction, high contract limits, and the ability to run unlimited simultaneous accounts. For futures traders with a proven edge, Apex offers one of the fastest and most flexible paths to funded status available anywhere in the industry.
Evaluation Rules
Apex uses a one-step evaluation with no Phase 2. Traders must hit a profit target over a minimum of 7 trading days without breaching the trailing drawdown threshold. There is no hard expiry date — traders are not racing against a calendar.
This is the most critical rule at Apex and the one most traders underestimate. The trailing drawdown tracks the highest equity point your account reaches — including unrealized open profits. If you build a large open gain and price retraces before you close, your drawdown threshold has already moved higher. Traders who pyramid into positions or hold through volatility without a hard stop are most exposed. Understand this mechanic fully before sizing into any trade.
Account Sizes & Pricing
Apex offers one of the broadest account size ranges in the industry — from $25K up to $300K. Monthly fees are competitive, and Apex regularly runs promotional discounts of up to 80% off, making it one of the most affordable prop firms to enter.
BothFULLandSTATICplan types are available. FULL plans adjust the trailing threshold upward as your balance grows. STATIC plans lock the threshold at the starting balance, giving traders more room to build profits without the drawdown level moving against them.
| Account Size | Profit Target | Trailing Drawdown |
|---|---|---|
| $25,000 | $1,500 | $1,500 |
| $50,000 | $3,000 | $2,500 |
| $75,000 | $4,250 | $2,750 |
| $100,000 | $6,000 | $3,000 |
| $150,000 | $9,000 | $5,000 |
| $250,000 | $15,000 | $6,500 |
| $300,000 | $20,000 | $7,500 |
Funded Account & Payouts
Once a trader passes the evaluation, they move into a Performance Account where real payouts begin. The same trailing drawdown rules apply, so disciplined risk management remains essential throughout.
Platforms & Instruments
Apex supports two platforms — Rithmic and Tradovate. Rithmic is the preferred choice for NinjaTrader and Sierra Chart users, offering ultra-low latency and a highly stable data feed. Tradovate provides a modern, browser-based interface with no installation required, ideal for traders who want accessibility across devices.

MarketGrid Verdict
Apex Trader Funding remains one of the most established prop firms in the futures space heading into 2026. The fast one-step evaluation, generous payout structure, high contract limits, and broad instrument access make it a compelling choice for serious futures traders.
The intraday trailing drawdown is the one rule that demands full attention before you start trading. Master it, size accordingly, and Apex is genuinely hard to beat for funded futures trading.

Best prop firm I've tried so far
Been with Apex for about 8 months now and honestly can't complain. Passed my first eval in three weeks, got funded within 5 days, and have had three consistent payouts since. The dashboard is straightforward, the rules are clear once you actually sit down and read them, and the trailing drawdown honestly just kept me disciplined. Customer support solved my one issue within a day. Withdrawals hit on time every time. For the price — especially during a promo — the value is hard to beat compared to other firms I've tried. If you come in with a real strategy and respect the risk rules, Apex delivers exactly what it promises. Highly recommend.

Not what I expected
Apex Trader Funding has one of the smoothest evaluation processes I’ve used so far. The dashboard is clean, payouts are handled professionally, and the rules are straightforward compared to many other prop firms.
