Topstep

Thinking about Topstep? Look beyond the monthly price.

Topstep is a futures programme. Choose an account size, then compare Standard with No Activation Fee pricing. The cheaper first payment is only one part of the decision: renewal timing, resets and the next account stage change the total.

Overview

Topstep

The Trading Combine tests performance in a simulated environment. An Express Funded Account is also simulated; Live is a later, separately determined stage. Your size label is buying power, not money deposited into your own account. Plan around the loss allowance and subscription timeline, rather than the headline size.

Who this may suit

For futures traders who can close positions by the programme’s deadline and budget for renewals.

Worth knowing before you pay

Standard lowers the recurring fee but adds activation after passing. No Activation Fee costs more each month. Neither route guarantees an Express or Live account.

The overall loss floor follows the highest end-of-day balance and locks at the starting balance. It is monitored against equity during the session. The 55% consistency target is separate from that loss rule.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Trading Combine a live account?+

No. The Trading Combine uses a simulated environment. Topstep also describes its Express Funded Account as simulated, with Live Funded Account access as a distinct later stage.

Does the evaluation renew monthly?+

The official overview describes the Trading Combine as a monthly subscription. Confirm the current cancellation, reset and renewal terms before starting.

Are payout rules identical across stages?+

No. The programme overview describes different conditions for Express account paths and Live accounts. Read the policy for the account you actually hold.

Can I change payment route after buying?+

Topstep’s pricing page says the Standard and No Activation Fee paths cannot be changed after purchase. Compare a few paid-cycle scenarios first.

What happens to renewal when I reset?+

An applied reset pushes the next rebill 30 days out. Each monthly rebill adds a reset credit. Credits are tied to the account size and type; they cannot buy a new Combine.

When can I request an XFA payout?+

Standard requires five winning days of at least $150. Consistency requires three trading days and a best-day share no greater than 40%. Requests are limited to 50% of the balance and a size-specific cap. Check current promotions and the account agreement for exceptions.
